Birth of LLAMA

Oh let me tell you about it....

It is easier to say what went according to the plan than what didn't.

The day that we had our first cuts done some of the parts appeared to be not sized properly because of a little miscommunication so we had another long call to fix it. That day we also booked 3 consecutive laser appointments in the morning during which I was taking my exam. Some parts ended up being cut on the wrong shade of paper but that was not a big deal, most of those things were just aesthetics, so they were easy to overlook.

I joined them at about 12pm and started working on the insides, Krstian and Veena were putting together head and body. Based on what I saw, the small binder clips I brought that helped them a lot. During that late-night call yesterday they added some unnecessary folds and tabs so they were trying to figure it out for some time. Besides that one of my parts also with a small problem but it was easy to fix with a knife

So after this moment, we decided to match our parts, and though the wideness of our new model was good, the wall of my part was too tall for it. Which was my failure as I provided the measurements for it. At that point, we just decided to finish it as there were not too many options left. It was about 3-4 pm.

I did a run to the woodshop and brought a bunch of tweezers, as I was still gluing all the small veins when we figured out that the number of tabs - paper cutouts we made for fringe - was not enough to cover the whole llama. Tired we brainstormed the easiest way to fix it, thankfully the materials were there.

It was about that time that we figured out that the idea of making a tail out of such thick paper was a tad bit stupid. And we forgot to properly think of the way to glue it, so it was as it was.

We "finished" it at about 6pm. Dead. It was fun overall, I definitely had a good time. A Him Hortons that I brought also helped as not a single person in the team had breakfast, or proper food that day. Taking pictures was fun too and thinking about this creature's lore. I think the last thing we talked about it being a trans-guy born-out-of-wedlock llama with a child (an object we chose, a small llama figure), and it basically being a Batman. The team got along great too. It definitely felt as if we had a good connection and helped out each other. It felt like everyone put a lot of effort into it and wanted to see it through.

I really hope to get some feedback T_T
